Soon, for reasons out of my power, I will be coming across roughly $100.
It has already been determined that this money will go to bass gear. However, I am torn between two items.
A. Boss ODB-3: a kickass overdrive pedal.
B. Ampeg BA-108: a small, good sounding amp.
A Pros:
It sounds incredibly awesome. I love the way that it blends the overdrive with the clean sound. As if that weren't awesome enough, Flea from RHCP uses one. For those keen of ear, here's a link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jmE5CfALWTg
B Pros:
I already have a half stack, but the entire package is probably around 120 lbs and I'd like a lightweight amp for practices. This one weighs in at 27 lbs which is less than a quarter of my rig. Has pretty cool tone too, but I'm not too concerned about that because I'd mostly be using it for practices.
A Cons:
I'd have to buy more cables and probably a charger unless I want to constantly change 9 Volts. And I'd still have to drag my huge half stack everywhere.
B Cons:
As I said earlier, I already have a working amp that sounds like sex. Earsex. Also, I'd still be curious about the sound of that pedal.
I must choose wisely. I know that eventually I'll get both. It's just a matter of which I get now and which I get 6 months from now.
EDIT: I got casters for $20 and shoes for $90. wat.
